The Sonoma Scout features a modified Gus Western crown and super wide brim for great-looking sun protection favored by cowboys and cowgirls. Designed and crafted in California from a genuine Panama handwoven in Ecuador from sustainably harvested paja toquilla palm straw. The tight weave is tested UPF50+ and blocks 95% of harmful UV radiation. A band of diagonal open weave around the crown provides cooling ventilation. Approximately 5" brim to the handwoven edge. Provides shade for the face, ears, neck, and shoulders. The interior sweatband is moisture-wicking and elasticized for comfort and fit. The leather lace chin cord/stampede string secures the hat in the wind and allows it to be worn at the back of the shoulders, leaving hands free.
